hello to everyone
I`m a member of commuter club. A company who provide cheaper annual ticket trough a financial scheme.
Basically provide a strong discounted ticket and a finance pay everything upfront.
So i basically pay every mount a fixed rate to them inclusive of they interest and profit.
As the website state and on my contract say i can cancel my membership anytime.
The procedure is a bit complicated as i have to call them or send them an e mail when i ask them to do so.
So they after this they give to me an adress and all the procedure to cancel my membership. If i have understand right i have to send them my ticket and they will process all my unused day of travel to calculate a refund.
Problem is who after covid people are mass contacting them to have membership cancelled.
At the moment i`m not working as my company as close is door. So i`n not travelling more than 10 days already.
Point is i`m sending mail to ask for cancellation and they are not sending me the related information i need to cancel my membership. They are insteed asking me to wait 6 week because they are talking with transport or governament. They are basically asking for a 2 mount ticket extension validity for keep people on commuter club.
Point is on 16 on march i have already pay 240 pound and i`m not using it. On 16 april i have to pay again another 240 pound and i don`t need it.
I dont know what game are playing but i dont like it.
I want to stop pay also because the situation on uk is not going to fix soon and i don`t have so much money to waste.
I think as they promise i can cancel anytime. at the moment the way they are acting as breaching the contract i have signed.
Any suggestion?

Contact the finance company and start a section 75 claim. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0

thanks so much for the answer.
But some details are unclear.
Commuter club is the company who give to you the ticket, as it buy for you from the rail companyies. But the finance is provided by a finance company who charge you by direct debit.
So i have to send a section 75 claim to the finance company who i pat monthly?

Under section 75 of the consumer credit act 1974, if you have a claim against the trader, you have a "like" (ie the same) claim against the creditor.ronewird said:thanks so much for the answer.

There are some conditions for it to apply, like trader & creditor need to be different entities, needs to be provided over a period longer than 3 months, the item you purchased must be over £100 (even if you only pay £5 by finance such as credit card, you're covered) etcYou keep using that word. Provided that the rest of the requirements for S75 are complied with, a payment of any amount, even 1p paid via finance is enough.0 -
I`m on touch with credit premium now. I had start a section 75 claim as suggested. Let see.0

It was just a random figure to demonstrate its the amount of the item rather than amount paid by credit that determines whether it applies. Tbh, I don't expect there's a lot of circumstances (if any) where someone might pay even as little as £5 by credit. Especially in OP's circumstances where it wasn't by credit card.Hermione_Granger said:

@ronewird, I am in the same position but with an Oyster travel card. May I ask how you contacted Credit Premium? By sending a claim directly to them or starting with just an email? Thanks.0
