New car ordered but corona virus prevented collection
Options
Hi,
I ordered a new car from Citroen before the virus hit. The deal was done, deposit paid and finance sorted, all that was left was to collect the vehicle and sign the paperwork. The deal I was offered was only for March so the car had to be collected before the 31st. I had the collection arranged but then we had the lockdown rightly imposed upon us. When this eventually ends will I still be able to collect the car or at least get my deposit back?

No one on this forum will know for certain exactly what will happen but I would be very surprised if Citroen haven't made allowances for the situation at hand.
Assuming that the order was made from a main dealer, have you spoken to or contacted the dealership or Citroen UK to ask them?
Edited to add:
https://www.citroen.co.uk/covid-19-updateFollowing the statement from the Prime Minister on Monday evening, we intend to continue to fully support the Government efforts to control the spread of the virus. Our physical showrooms across the UK will therefore temporarily close until the end of the shutdown period.
Our retailers will be contacting all customers that are currently expecting delivery of a new or used car, have a vehicle onsite for service or have an upcoming booking with an update to make suitable arrangements to support everyone.

Who knows? Would you still want a car that hat been sitting in the yard for six months?1

Luckily I picked my new car up first thing Monday. Was quite a strange experience.Parked my trade in at one end of the car park, someone came out with a load of cleaning materials and scrubbed it to death. The new one was driven out to the other end and someone else sprayed and wiped all the touch surfaces down.At the dealership door, someone threw me a set of keys and I threw my ones back. That was it, we just waved at each other through the window!0

I’m exactly the same, found an ex demo Puma, left a deposit ect, couldn’t pick it up until middle of April anyway, ( something to do with ford not releasing their demos?) dealer emailed me saying things will continue where we left off when everything goes back to normal, just have to be patient0

You need to make sure that the finance is postponed so you aren't paying it while you don't have the car.
And as Car54 says do you want a car that's been sat around for 6 months? At the very least it will need a proper service, new fluids, check the brakes are not rusting etc. Battery will need to be replaced, they don't like being left flat for long periods. You could ask for a big discount or just ask for a new vehicle.0 -

(Guess i was under the assumption that everything (payments) would continue as normal whilst the car is being held for you)0 -

Seems that some people do not understand that many cars are sat either at manufacture storage, or large storage yards either near ports/dealers.
So many cars are sat much longer.Life in the slow lane1 -

Yes but they will do all the stuff I mentioned on the car before collection if it's been sat around for six months. If the dealer already did it then you need to make sure they do it again.0
