Do I qualify for Furlough pay?

Ok so i resigned from my job on 11th March as a travel agent and had a job set up at the pub on the 23rd March. The pubs accountant has said i need to of been been employed by the pub for at least a month to qualify for the 80% wage. I'm friends with the owners of the pub and they have told me my job is waiting for me when its all ok again. Would i not qualify if i'm on their payroll and they want to keep me on?

We are waiting for more details on how the scheme will work, possibly today.

You presumably have a contract of employment from your new employer.

What are your new employer saying to you about that???

Oh well, unless you can prove you are employed, best start your application for UC ... but that may be months away as you appear to have voluntary resigned from the job you did have.

Perhaps get your CV around the local supermarkets (or farms if you have any nearby) - they are all recruiting.
  • i'm sure they would out something i writing for me that is not a problem. I just want to clarify the 1 month part?

We don't have sufficient detail on the scheme yet but it is promised imminently.
