Although both my husband and i have been laid off and are awaiting to find out when our 80% wages will be paid one vision housing will not freeze any rents due and are collecting as normal ( next week)...this seems really unfair as mortgage compaines can freeze payments why cant one vision ?
Ive sent 4 emails detailing our curcumstances and they are not interested
Any advice

Don’t panic, you can’t be evicted right now, if you have to pay a bit less for now you will have chance to clear the arrears later.1

When you say "laid off" - is furlough definitely not an option for either of you? There is nothing at all morally gray about an employer keeping employees on furlough speculatively, and then if economic conditions don't improve laying people off later. Definitely, definitely, try to get onto your (former) employers about being furloughed, it is 100% something that you want to pro-actively push to give you the best security. With regards to the Housing Association, I presume by "not interested" you have been receiving replies? I would recommend that the moment you are both able to clarify your employment status (be that furloughed or definitely laid off), that Universal Credit is applied for as there is quite a bit of support for housing costs within UC, over and above the "basic rate" of £94.25 which is oft-talked about. The one bit I cannot help with is what you should do about next week's rent payments, I can't do that in good conscience because I don't know the full circumstances. What I can say is that the Government has introduced a three month delay on eviction proceedings being able to proceed - https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2020/03/uk-coronavirus-help-and-your-rights/#rent

By all rights your employer should still pay you in your normal pay run as it is up to them to go and reclaim the money from HMRC later. If they have cash-flow issues and you have agreed to defer your pays until the business can afford to pay you then that's the position you are in.
Sounds like you have tried and failed to negotiate a deferment of the rent payment. It's discretionary on the HA's part but they should realise that whatever happens it doesn't look like you'll be paying rent on time this month. You will fall in to arrears.
Do you pay rent by standing order - if so and the SO is rejected then it may appear as a missed payment on your credit file. If you have control over your SO then modify it now so that does not happen and then readjust it when your income comes back.
If the above is a concern to you, do you have any short term credit such as an overdraft you can lean on to avoid the arrears?

As mentioned, there's not much a landlord can do at present if you don't pay your rent.
(But it won't be free rent, just deferred rent)

Thanks guys..both our employers have furloughed us but wont be able to pay us untill they recive the monies from the goverment.
Yes ive had several emails back from one vision who keep stateing the same thing rents will be taken as normal i was just hoping that they had to follow the goverments advice on freezing the rent untill we are both reciveing our wages 🙄
Universal credit isnt an option as on 80 % wages when they come through will be over the limit
We have applied for an overdraft this morni g but got knocked back..just seems like the all the doors keep getting closed in our faces0
