NHS I.D

During these trying times there are various offers to help NHS employees eg. early shopping hours etc. I work for the NHS in a doctors surgery however we do not have NHS Identification. I’m sure there are lots of other people in the same situation. I’m lucky in that my husband is able to do any shopping that we need but I’m certain that not everyone is the same. Any advice as to what these people can show to prove where they work and will it be accepted.

Not sure what your surgery practice is, but I can't remember going to my local surgery where all employees were wearing their ID cards around their neck.
This is in a large metropolitan area, where without ID, you wouldn't know who was staff and who was not, and you wouldn't want to be discussing about all your bits and bobs with someone who turned out not to actually be anything to do with the surgury.

I suppose it may be different at somewhere out in the sitcks, where everyone knows everyone, and they all drink in the same, sole village pub, if it was still open before this crisis.

Presumably, even in the unusual event an employee does not have any ID, any NHS worker still gets, for example, an NHS payslip.

In our small local surgery everyone has an NHS I.D.
