TUI / First Choice amend holiday

Hi all,
Firstly apologies if this has been put elsewhere, there are so many of these but I have tried to read through them to find an answer.
We are due to travel to Mexico on the 20th April, after the travel ban currently ends. TUI / FC are currently only contacting people travelling up to the travel ban date (understandably). I have read the T&Cs on the FC app for amending our holiday and I don't know where we stand. You can amend but this has to be 7 days before, as we travel within 7 days of the ban ending what can we do?

If we do choose to move it, the price is a minimum of £200pp more expensive for the same period next year. Surely this is profiteering by the travel companies?

Anyone who is going through this also I would be interested to know what your situation is and what you have been told if you have managed to contact your travel company?
Thanks
Stay safe!

I think you are misreading what TUI/First Choice have said.  You may need to come off your phone/app and use a computer and look at their website properly.

You can move your holiday UP TO 7 days before your original travel date - not only at 7 days.

If the new holiday date is cheaper then TUI will refund you the difference, if it is more expensive then the customer pays the difference.   It is not profiteering as you state.  I am sure you know and appreciate that holidays are not at one single set price all year and depending on date/demand then prices are different.

From the TUI website/policy, plus the emails being sent to customers (of which I am one) -

"If you have an existing booking for a TUI, Marella Cruises or First Choice package holiday, booked before 17 March 2020 and travelling on or before 30 June 2020, you can amend for free to any holiday that’s currently on sale. If you choose a holiday that’s cheaper than the one you originally booked, we’ll refund you the difference. If you choose a holiday that’s more expensive than your original booking, you’ll need to pay the difference in price.
You can make a change free of charge up until seven days before your original departure date. This policy is in place until 31 May 2020. So, if your holiday departs between 8 June 2020 and 30 June 2020, you must make any amends on or before 31 May 2020."
