car insurance - no claims bonus

Hi there
Ive been a named driver for 2 years and 5 days but had 9 years no claims previously. my insurer won't let me use my no claims discount and says its invalid if its one day over 2 years, my plan was to swap main driver  between me and my partner as we both use it equally.  He is also insured my a company which provides him with a van daily.  Does anyone know any companies which would accept 3 years

Unlikely any will do so as a matter of course - the industry standard is two years.

But you may find some willing to offer you a discount roughly equivalent.

BTW, the level of discount drops off rapidly way before that anyway, and most insurers have a maximum they'll recognise, which could be as low as six years.
