Casual contract terminated

I have been working for 4  months on a casual contract doing approx 21 hours a week.  My contract has been terminated because of the coronavirus, I would still be working there if no virus. Does anyone know if they can do this ?  if they can are there any benefits I can claim ? Our savings are over the threshold for universal credit?  Thank you

Under whatcircumstances was your contract teminated?
You say it was a casual contract, and now it has ended.

If you are unemployed, and able to work, then the usual state benefits still remain in place for those in need.
  • It was terminated as the offices have closed (letting and estate agency) and I was told that the company are terminating all Casual contracts. I had been told I would have had work till end of May possibly longer and when all back to normal may be asked togo back as they are still short staffed.

Universal credit is the only option, or another job.
