If you are just unable to get through keep trying. If you can find an email, email them, you could also send them a letter

IMHO given the strain they will be under with customers looking for assistance(such as a payment holiday) they are unlikely to come down hard. A lot I suspect will come down to prior conduct, if you’ve always paid on time that will count in your favour, if your often late or in arrears not so good

your credit history will be impacted even with the payment holiday (your balance won’t be dropping and if repayment amount is shown it’ll be £0). A late payment marker can always be removed later if applied in error. It’s worth bearing in mind many will have thier credit history impacted, which will lessen the impact somewhat

Just to clarify I’m not say just a letter or email and then relax, keep trying to speak to someone. The letter or email might help in future to show you were actively trying to address the situation

Why do you state in the title of this thread that your mortgage company won't help you, when it seems you have not yet managed to contact them?

You need to follow the infoprmation provided on their website.
There is a postal address provided if you really cannot get through on the phone.
But there is a notice stating that they are handling a huge numberof calls with a reduced number of staff at this time, so just keep trying.
Their reduced staff will also affect the time to respond to any written application.
