Coventry BS 9 digit account number

My wife is part of a savings club at work. Because of the current situation she has been asked to set up a standing order to a Coventry Building Society account, but it has a 9 digit account number and my own bank (Lloyds) will only accept 8 digits. I suspect the 9th digit on the account is a check digit but can anybody confirm that is the case before I transfer anything to it. Because it is a Savings Club account the person running it doesn't have online access so I can't do a £1 initial transfer to check it's going to the correct place.
If need be she will simply have to pay a lump sum in when things get back to normal.

Best to ask the Coventry for a definitive answer
ETA
This comes from their advice on paying into an ISA
"Send an electronic payment
You can set up a one-off electronic payment or regular standing orders from another bank or building society into your account. To do this, you'll need to use these details:
Sort Code: 40-63-01
Account number: the last 8 digits of your 9 digit Coventry account number
We use 9 digit account numbers - simply remove the first digit when giving your account number.
When you're transferring money from another bank/building society, they'll be able to tell you when they expect the payment to reach us."Source: https://www.coventrybuildingsociety.co.uk/consumer/help/savings/paying-into-your-account.html

I have a couple of Coventry savings accounts. The first of the nine digits is the one to exclude (i.e. use the last eight).0

Thank you both for the clarification. I've set it up on that basis.
