Downgrading Sky!

Options
Can anyone offer advice, I'm trying to downgrade due to not working and cutting back because of lockdown. Sky inform you not to call and do it online but when I click to downgrade it informs me to call sky... this seems very underhand by Sky and is making it very difficult to make changes I must make to save money/Bill's etc...just looking for help or shall I just cancel the Direct Debit? Thanks in advance.

If you want to pause Sport to reduce your bill try going via an incognito window to do so. Before I tried that I was getting the spinning wheel and no action for an hour or more. Agree with not cancelling the DD. It will end up causing a lot of trouble including damage to your credit rating.

Problem is all these call centres are vastly overloaded with people trying the same .

I also imagine lots of people switching to "Freesat from Sky".

That's a full cancellation, of course, not simply a "downgrade". In addition, it's something usually not possible for Sky Q customers unless they have a hybrid LNB and their old Sky+HD...

  • Thank you folks, wont cancel the D/D and just wait it out via the phone, just annoying they ask you to do things online and not call as they are overrun knowing fine well you cannot downgrade via online method.
  • I'm in a similar position - I want to cancel Ultimate Demand whilst I'm in a free trial period before they start charging me. Presumably not providing a way to do this (on the assumption you follow their own instructions and don't phone) is illegal?!?!?....
