CCJ’s and the police

Hi all, just wondering why the police have a a strict policy on having a CCJ, like an automatic no entry?

It baffles me as I was in the Royal Navy and I was given security clearance which I assume is a lot more serious than a simple dbs check.

Do they? If so, it's probably because the risk of corruption by people who need money is higher in the police than in the navy. Opportunities for evidence to get "lost", for case paperwork to be "misfiled", etc.

CCJ is a reflection of an individuals character. Last resort when all other approaches have failed.

I would say "can be a reflection" rather than "is a reflection", especially now that parking scammers seem to have free reign on getting them applied to old addresses. And also, it doesn't so much reflect on an individual's character, as their financial situation.
  • CCJs would have been a factor had you gone for a post requiring DV clearance, its just mitigation against a risk factor.

I see no reference to parking scammers in the thread. My comment was made on the basis of being involved in the non payment of business debts over many years.
