Worried about switching from Avro to Octopus
With potential savings of around £300 per year I need to change supplier. This is the 1st time I am considering switching so a bit apprehensive about how it all works
I see that according to Octopus the switch could take up to 3 weeks but I am worried about being without Gas & Electricity during this time or if something goes wrong especially during these times and at this time in the month.
My next DD with Avro is on 1st April - should I wait until after then?
Can anyone reassure me its ok to switch now?
Thanks as always

Switch process is automatic and seamless, no interuption to supply, this may help

You probably realise this but as Avro take their DD in advance of the supply starting you could end up paying both companies in the first month. Other than that a few tips for being with Avro. Put in you readings every month when they send you readings reminders. If you do it on the day they will estimate for the days between the reading date and the billing date. In four years my estimates have been spot on. They have the bill available about 4 days after the billing date but they don't send you a reminder. I always download the bills and keep a copy offline. If the reading emails or the bills don't arrive chase them up, this has never happened to me but a few posters have complained about this. Every so often do a check on the Avro site to see if they have a better tariff on offer. Do not sign in as a customer, ask for a quote and when you put in your post code they recognise you as a customer. Then you can switch to the better tariff just by entering a start date and the rest is all automatic. One of the benefits of being with an exit free company.2
