Potentially virus on baskets, trolleys, counters, self-service screens and PIN pads (when needed when over contactless level or usage counter)
Can use own bottle of hand-gel when leave the shop (if can get) though still touch purse etc.
Getting worried as no online slots so have to navigate stores. Some have distance and crowd controls, others nothing.
Have to go to multiple stores (and I run errands for somebody else too) to facilitate requirements, so upping risk.

Get a box of disposable gloves if you can find any. Otherwise use your own gloves and clean them before taking them off.1

The government is trying to advise you on this as best they can: Tips for this thread are probably deserving of it's own forum.
Biggest thing is stay 2m away from public. Keep your hands clean. After you touch public surfaces focus on not touching your face.
Clean your hands again when you get back to your home.
The virus does not enter through your skin. It's only if it gets in your mouth, nose or eyes. That is why it is important to wash your hands after going out in public.
But do not get so worried that the worry affects your life. If you take the precautions then that is enough. Don't go overboard and don't assume everything is toxic. It isn't. Your private possessions (purse and pockets etc) are safe. Avoid cash.1 -
There's plenty of excellent advice already on the thread. What I will add is that while it does to an extent depend on where you live, by and large the supermarkets have seriously upped their game in the last 72 hours. If your impression from outside is that they're not doing enough or that people are in significant numbers entirely ignoring social distancing and instead treating it like a boxing day sale, then that's probably not the supermarket for you.Curious about the needing to go to multiple stores point - I am not in any way, shape or form trying to challenge you or to ask you to defend the comment. You do mention errants therefore there might be a question of quantity of certain items needed. But if you are comfortable in some stores and uncomfortable in others, I would suggest that you consider the extent to which it's "preference" or "need" to specifically go to the worse ones. If there's one store you're particularly comfortable in, but there are limits, then maybe as a for instance go to that store twice a week, rather than do one shopping day per week in the good and bad store.1
