I need some advice please. I have been placed into furlough for the time being and being paid the governments 80% however, I had a holiday booked from work while I'll be in furlough. My question is will I loose this holiday entitlement/ paid full rate while on holiday/ entitlement be given back when out of furlough? Thanks in advance

I think that really depends on how charitable your employer is feeling and what your terms and conditions say about cancelling holidays, arguably your getting your holiday from work.

Nobody knows. It's down to your employer but maybe there will be some guidance on this in the future.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0

The government is paying the 80%. The company cannot claim the 80% and make you use holiday. How the rearrange it would be up to the company. Or they may choose to pay you the holiday and not claim the 80% for that week so that they do not have to rearrange your holiday.

You will retain your holiday entitlement to be taken once you come off being furloughed.
It will need to be taken within the holiday year that your employer operates, but your employer may otherwise dictate when you take it.

See also holiday-entitlement-and-pay-during-coronavirus-covid-19#furloughed-agency-workers on the same website (for some reason I can't paste this link but hopefully you can search and find). It's a bit messy but I don't think the other posts give the full picture. I'm far from an expert but to me it reads that you can take holiday while on furlough, and that your employer can require you to take holiday, and possibly that they can require you to take holiday while on furlough. You should get your usual holiday pay though. Do discuss it with your employer and if you can get some professional or union advice do that too.
