Covid 19 & Royal Mail

As pointed out, there's no way of knowing without using up more resources. If I use RM a lot of my stuff goes out in standard brown envelopes. It's probably not essential in the great scheme of things but quite important to a lot of people. There's no way anyone would know its importance without opening it.lindens said:If they stopped delivering all the junk mail and leaflets that would help!!
I think from next week Rm will be delivering only essentials due to staff shortages and ebay parcels will be refused, Just a gut instinct
It does seem like the government need/want RM to continue deliveries as much as possible. Especially as they've just given them £3million of business and I expect will be using them again. Some people still have no online access so Royal Mail can be vital to them.

Further to this. Boris's 'letter' next week will be a D2D.lindens said:

I think from next week Rm will be delivering only essentials due to staff shortages and ebay parcels will be refused, Just a gut instinctWe only deliver Direct Marketing as it's called to houses that have mail during the week. You do realise you can stop it? I've explained to numerous people how to do it and I'm still delivering it to them 6 months later and they still complain!! Perhaps you are one of them?
However anyone with internet access would have no issue getting such valuable information from various sources.1 -

Update on callers office times0 -
Re Lindens question about Government letters etc.It doesn't stop mail addressed to you from marketing companies. They are either personally addressed to you or to the "Householder".Boris's letter will probably be like David Cameron's letter before the Brexit vote. They will go in your slot and we will probably have 3 days to deliver it.0

Not much has happened from a customer view.
However it seems RM are bringing back 2 in a van for deliveries from Monday.
A surprising move IMHO and not union sanctioned0
