We have a large house in Bath booked as part of a hen party on 17th April. The company is refusing to change our date stating the 14 of us must still attend or will only offer us a 50% refund. Most of us are key workers, including nurses, police officers and teachers and have
also had our leave cancelled. Where do we stand?

One option to to wait and see if they change their policy between now and your check in date. Booking.com is now issuing full refunds on all UK accommodation but only up to the 13th of April at present. I had an apartment booking refunded today. Government has banned all leisure travel in the UK, and has closed all hotels, B&Bs etc. I think apartments / house / cottage bookings have been left in a grey area. Government has not required that they cease trading, but the guidance for individuals blocks them going on any leisure trips.
Your other options are contacting your travel insurance (if you took any out) and / or your credit card company.

If no refund options exist at this point and do not become available over the next few days / weeks, you may be at the mercy of the company. If they do not offer a refund you could perhaps pursue pushing the booking back to alternative dates later in the year / next year.
