I booked a holiday through TUI and my final payment is due the end of next month. Currently TUI are only contacting you if you are due to travel soon but my holiday of for July. I'm unsure whether to finish paying as I'm uncertain about whether I'll actually get to go on that holiday but if I don't I will lose my deposit money and at this point in time it's not great to be just throwing money away. I don't expect TUI to get in contact with me any time soon so I really don't know what to do. We the deposit with a credit card but as the government travel advice doesn't discuss July we don't know if we will be covered by that. Anyone else in the same situation?

  • We had a holiday booked for end June and have decided to cancel and lose our deposit of £240 rather than pay the remaining balance in 2 weeks time. We also we're going to NYC in April and waiting to hear if we are getting a refund from our travel agents - very stressful as it's a lot of money. I think we are in for a fight as they are indicating a voucher which I don't want at this time.
  • The balance payment on our June holiday to Aruba is due tomorrow. We have paid £500 deposit and have £5,500+ to pay. I am on the phone to TUI now (have been on hold for the last 50 minutes). I want to ask them if they will defer the payment to 4 weeks before we are due to travel in the hope there is a clearer picture by then. If that is not possible I want to know what my alternatives are. If I decide not to pay the balance can I evoke a section 75 indemnity under the consumer credit act to get my deposit back?
  • I hour and 8 minutes now. No indication of what number I am in the queue and no option to leave my number and have somebody call me back when I reach the front of the queue. Very poor customer service - not exactly crossing the T's or dotting the I's.

My final payment is due 14th April for my holiday in July.I've tried phoning TUI and they've closed all call centres and stores now.I have to go into a store to pay the money as for some reason I can't pay online. It was a phone booking so doesn't count as a store or online booking.Does anyone know if TUI  will defer the final payment date or if I will loose what money I've already paid.

I gave up after 1 hour and 20 minutes. I will email them tomorrow and put the emphasis on them to contact me for payment of the balance (and to let me know the alternatives).
