Natwest cancel DD

Recently switched current account to Natwest, need to cancel a DD that transferred with it, but can't as it is not showing online.
Was told last week that CS can cancel the DD but I cannot until it has been taken fro the first time on this account. Did not want to cancel last week as the DD related to a SIM switch that happened yesterday and I did not want the mobile;e company messing about with the porting of the number.
However when phoning Natwest today they will only assist with anyone in financial hardship on the phone, (check out the recorded message by phoning 0800 200400), I still cannot cancel online. So ahs anyone any idea how I cancel this DD?
I will phone EE to ask them to cancel but some companies continue to take DD's and the next one is due 12th April.

They are correct in that it is a Quirk of NatWest that your direct debits do not show on your account until the first one has been taken even though they have been set up.
you should be able to cancel it with the originator, or if they take tje money easily get it refunded0 -
Surely you should be cancelling this DD with EE through your EE account, rather than through your bank?derrick said:Recently switched current account to Natwest, need to cancel a DD that transferred with it, but can't as it is not showing online. Was told last week that CS can cancel the DD but I cannot until it has been taken fro the first time on this account. DD's are set up around 10 days in advance of due date. You've a window to inform EE.derrick said:I will phone EE to ask them to cancel but some companies continue to take DD's and the next one is due 12th April.0 -

DD's are set up around 10 days in advance of due date. You've a window to inform EE.No window needed. This DD has been running for several years, so no time for set up required, only reason I cannot cancel online is because I have just used Natwests CASS to change banks and as the DD has not been taken yet by EE only the banks CS can cancel, see my post above for link to Natwests own information on cancelling a DD.

I cancelled the DD with EE, but as I do not trust some companies to cancel, or there may be a glitch, I have managed to get through to NatWest and cancel the DD from that end as well.
