Car Servicing (not MOT) for Warranty Purposes

Hi All,
Hope you're keeping well.
I have a question regarding car servicing requirements as per the car manufacturers warranty T&Cs. I am required to get my car serviced at every 10,000 miles in order to comply with the Hyundai 5 Year Warranty. I have been recently informed that the Hyundai Service Centre's (locally) are closing due to this pandemic. This meaning that my scheduled 10,000 mile car service will not be going ahead as planned (mid April 2020).
I do approximately 450 miles a week and I am also classed as a "key worker" as I work in the medical diagnostics industry. Therefore I will be racking up the mileage quicker than your average motorist. I have contacted Hyundai directly and they have stated that they "...will have an open-ended time limit until further notice but a maximum mileage of 1,500 miles." As you can understand, I will exceed 1,500 miles in just over 3 weeks from hitting 10,000 miles. At the current rate, and as the pandemic worsens in the UK, it is highly likely I will exceed 10,000 + 1,500 miles before the UK starts to get back to normality.
How do I approach this? Surely I can't be penalized for this thus losing my car warranty just because I am a "key worker" and must travel to work (I cannot work from home, some days I could if possible but probably at most once a week). Independent garages remain open, as far as I am aware, but I am planning for them to close very soon at the current state of the crisis.
Many thanks,
Dan

I wouldn't even worry about it until or if you have a warranty issue.1

When you put it like that, that's a really good piece of advice! I suffer with severe anxiety so I'm thinking all sorts!Deleted_User said:I wouldn't even worry about it until or if you have a warranty issue.
Thank you.

You do have the option of getting your car serviced at a different garage, as long as they are VAT registered. I used to get my Hyundai serviced at a local place that wasn't a Hyundai garage and never had a problem needing to invoke the warranty when the air conditioning failed.1

Hello,
My nearly 1 year old Seat Ibiza is due a service next month. Seat are only working on key workers' cars.
When asked about warranty they say it will be accounted for in the event of a claim (but IMO there's no guarantee implied).
When asked about possible quality deterioration (else why do we have service intervals), they don't answer specifically.
I am not too worried as having asked I could make a case if anything is needed in future.
But for others in my position it may be wise to contact their dealer to show that they did try to have their car serviced.......0 -
Stop with the cut and paste pushing blooming service point. your posts have been reported0

"quality deterioration" as you've put it will vary massively. It all depends on how the car is used. The cars not going to suddenly start playing up because its not had its 12 month service interval on time. Especially on a 1 year old car, I think the first service is typically an oil change followed by some filter changes.peteduk said:Hello,

Whether you stick with a main dealer or not is upto you/upto the conditions on the lease/hire agreement. If you own the car outright and plan to sell it in a few years then normally main dealer FSH commands a slightly higher price than just FSH. Obviously as the car ages more (falls outside of warranty) a main dealer FSH starts to mean less and less.0 -
