Scam TV Licence email

just to alert you all to email scam regarding TV Licence
received one today saying my direct debit payment had failed and I need to click on link to reset.
looks quite convincing with a Licence reference number - however I knew payment not due today so did easy check online at TV Licensing which confirms it and gives me my correct licence number.
BEAWARE DON’T CLICK ON THE LINK AND DELETE IT

    We received similar saying car road fund licence (tax) payment had failed

    I had the same email months ago but I knew the Tv Licence  expired months later.
    i am now getting emails from Netflix saying my Direct Debit is not going through. 
    We don’t have Netflix . 
    Plus in spam email is Bitcoins  and how I could make lots of money .
    i just delete all these spam emails

    This is a common scam.

    Strange that the person that wrote that article complains of the email using an American date format, and yet he/she themselves has spelt licence the American way all through the article. To top it off the email has it spelt correctly.  :D
    Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.

    I had this, which looked genuine with the TV Licencing logo. I tried to report it, but no-one was really interested. Where is the best place to report these?
