Terminally ill father in law

Hello, I live with my partner. She is working from home but also the primary carer for her father with stage 4 cancer. He is obviously in the most vulnerable category possible when it comes to Covid-19. My employers are a music distribution company and there are currently between 50 and 100 of us in a warehouse everyday as they refuse to close, so I am seriously anxious and stressed about catching the virus and passing it on to my partner and her father. What are my rights here? Does this entitle me to that furlough thing or do I have to stay away with no pay if I choose to self isolate? Thanks in advance for any advice

The Job Retention Scheme is available to employers to support them to pay employees if they need to furlough workers who would otherwise be laid off. That doesn't appear to be your situation.
If your income is affected look at Universal Credit. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/universal-credit/
There are online calculators to help you assess entitlement https://www.gov.uk/benefits-calculators

Thanks for the reply
That's how I initially understood it but there are some people who fall into the vulnerable category here who are getting paid through that, as are people who have childcare issues so for me to have to decide between losing my wages and putting a loved one's life in serious danger is making me angry, anxious and stressed

The trouble is that it is down to each employer to choose whether to help beyond the statutory requirements.0

That is true, and the problem with my employer is there is never any consistencyJeremy535897 said:The trouble is that it is down to each employer to choose whether to help beyond the statutory requirements.0 -
A rather common theme running through these threads, I'm afraid.0
