Entire business temp closure but exempt from closure?

Good morning as of the evening of the 23/03/2020 we had emails to say the business is temp closing for 21 days do not come to work. As were on the gov list of not needing to close as we are an essential service my understanding is that were not able to qualify for the job retention payment? And work have not confirmed we will be getting paid? Is anybody able to help? As many others panic is setting in now.

We don't have the details yet but the coronavirus job retention scheme is open to all UK employers with UK businesses.
The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme allows all UK employers to be able to access support to continue paying part of their employees’ salary for those employees that would otherwise have been laid off during this crisis.
If the business is an essential service that the government actually wants to remain open I can't see how the employer could qualify for the scheme.

As you have said in response to many similar threads - until the details of the scheme are announced we don't know!

It isn't clear to me if employees who are not working due to health considerations will be eligible.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
