I work for an agency and have been based at the same warhouse for 2 and half years,im very happy there.Yesterday i had a text from the nhs saying i was high risk, I'd been thinking of going into isolation anyway as we're not an essential warehouse.we had a meeting yesterday and we were told we could choose to work if we wanted to,they were trying to keep the place open.They said we wouldn't be entitled to the 80% wages which i didn't think we would be anyway.I told them about the text i had (a few people had had one) and i was going to isolate,they assured me my place would be waiting for me when it's over but i would have to come off the books and be issued my p45.Ive looked into this and it means i can't claim any money at all because i won't be employed,i can't get universal credit because i would have to claim with my husband,he's got a good job and earns too much money.I find it disgusting that you have to consider your health to paying your bills.Im quite lucky that financially I'll be ok but im asking for my work mates,is this true?Can agencies (zero hours) treat you like this in light of the current situation?  Thank you for taking the time to read.
