Insurance Claim for Multiple Family Booking

My family has a holiday booked to Luxembourg in May. We have only paid a deposit so far and are supposed to pay the balance next week. We are going with some friends and we made the booking and paid the deposit on behalf of BOTH families. At the moment we are still due to go (the holiday park has not cancelled and the advice not to travel doesn't cover our holiday dates yet). I understand that we would need to pay the balance otherwise it would look like we have cancelled and therefore could not make an insurance claim for the deposit. However, if the advice changes and we can claim on our insurance, does anyone know whether most insurers would cover the full cost we have paid (for two families) or would they only cover our family? AIUI the insurance company would only pay your families losses. The other family would have to claim on their own insurance.

Who did you buy insurance cover for?  Unless you listed the other family's members when you took out the policy, they won't be covered on your policy.
