Gas and electric renewal - Smart meatre during Covid-19?

Hello,
By switching gas and electricity supplies I can save money however, the suppliers recommended require a.smart meatre installed within three months. How does this work during the current lock down?

    Their problem  - not yours - hardly important work -  the timescale will be extended.
