I always buy flour directly from a mill, milk, meat, eggs, and vegetables from local (15miles) farms... Naturally, I should have thought of buying cheese from a creamery! Sadly our local cheesemakers (Fowlers) don't seem to sell to general public.

Where do you live ?
West Midlands. Any suggestions on where to look for local cheesemakers are very welcome. I've tried google and facebook so far.Look for local cheese makers.

Not exactly West Midlands but not too far away - Croome Cuisine in Worcestershire, cheese makers with online shop.

Hi All,
I've read in the news that there are a lot of artisan cheese producers that are having to throw away their stock due to the Covid lockdown of restaurants etc. I saw one cheese delivery box which looked a nice idea - something along the lines of a 'save our British cheese' box. Does anyone have any experience/recommendations of these? or alternatives? With a lot of the dairies it seems to get a bit pricey esp. once you factor postage in but like the idea of supporting independent producers.
Thanks!0 -
You're possibly thinking of this one https://www.nealsyarddairy.co.uk/Still going, cheese changes monthly https://www.nealsyarddairy.co.uk/products/save-british-cheese-selectionI bought a box, probably not MSE about a kilo of 3 types of cheese, nearly £30 delivered at the time but I think the idea behind it is good and I am fortunate enough to be able to afford thisI was very pleased with the selection, and still eating it. Which is why I'm not buying this months selectionTo me it is cheese as I remember it, The Stilton in particular was superb

Paxton & Whitfield, The Ethical Dairy, Neal's Yard Dairy, Costco, Waitrose, Lynher Dairies, High Weald Dairy. If you find it in your local Iceland, the Wookey Hole Cave Aged Cheddar is good. Occasionally, Lidl has a nice organic farmhouse Cheddar.0
