CarSupermarket problem due to the Corona
Hi,
So I'm after some advice if possible – we have a car on PCP from Motordepot (now known as CarSupermarket) and the MOT is overdue (Mar 17th) which we only stupidly noticed today. When we took out the PCP last April, we paid £490 for the service + MOT package which covers that side of things for the 3 year period. My other half works in the healthcare sector and requires the car daily. We've spoken to CarSupermarket today and they've closed down all showrooms along with the garages, so they've said that they cannot carry out the MOT or service and they can't do anything about it.
We've gone back and forth and they've said they'd cover the cost of the MOT up to £40, but we are expected to pay for the service out of our own pocket which will be £120+. Given we've paid the additional money for the MOT + services I'm wondering where we stand on this and what our options are?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Get the MOT done and worry about the service later.
Servicing cars does not count as essential work so garages have to close
Edit... incorrect terminology... garages remain open ( hence my advice to get the MOT carried out) but do not have to provide servicing0 -
Get the MOT done before you get caught ,will cost you a lot more0

Remember, many key workers need their cars - and many others need them to do the basic errands that are still permitted.1 -

one of them has said they are going to try and arrange servicing/repairs for key workers after this weekend, the other just says they are closing on wednesday0 -

News. MOT temporary exemption. All MOT's due after 30 March, will get an automatic 6mth extension. So no need to go to test centre.
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-mots-for-cars-vans-and-motorcycles-due-from-30-march-2020
however in your case it wont help , the exempption is for vehicles that run out of mot after 30th march0 -

Staff in the main dealers may be down to the virus or self isolating or childcare and the business can provide the correct social distancing conditions.
Just because they can stay open doesn't mean they have to.0 -
Some of our local main dealers are still servicing cars for key workers0

If you do not get it serviced there could be warranty difficulties in future0
