Cancelled flights for under twos

Hi, we were due to fly to LA to visit family on 8th April shortly before my youngest daughter's 2nd birthday in order to save money on flights. We booked directly with British Airways and we had two flight changes. I would still like to travel at some point but I wonder where we would stand with my youngest daughter's ticket. If we change the date of the flight, are they obligated to provide her with a seat or will I have to pay the extra for her seat too? We intentionally wanted to travel before her birthday to save money as the flights are expensive! She turns two on 26th April so there is no way we can travel before her second birthday now. I just want to know if anyone knows what the situation is with this?

I would say that unfortunately you would be liable for the cost of the seat for your daughter. Even if you tried to rebook, and by some quirk the BA system let you rebook without charge, you would have a problem at check-in and/or boarding.

It's unfortunate, although it's no more BA's fault than it is yours.
