HSBC Bank plc - unsupportive

I am a self employed Childminder and I have lost my business overnight so I am eagerly looking forward to the Self Employed update. However I am appalled at the lack of support from HSBC Bank plc despite their massive advertising campaign saying that they are available to help. I asked if they could give payment holiday on both my loan and credit card, they said if I suspend the payment it will adversely affect my Credit Score and that they would work out a repayment plan which again would affect my Credit Score!
Not how they have advertised help!

Surely that is help.  They seem to be saying that they will give you a payment holiday but there are some not particularly surpising implications.  I dont think the banks help would entail them giving you money.

You need to ask them, not about your credit score (which is not a thing) but as to how they will make any missed payment or payment holiday on your credit files.

The frontline staff probably won't know without checking, but if it's marked as a U, then the negative interpretations by lenders will be minimised, through not entirely eliminated.

Once you know that, you can take the decision as to how you want to proceed.
