Bounced chque

My dad gave us some money but he didn't sign the cheque correctly. By the time I received a letter from my bank telling me this, we had spent the money. However, three weeks later and still not take in out of my account - is there a time limit to when the bank can recover the money?

Have you checked with your father if he has been contacted by his bank about this?
It could be that if he has and agreed it is a genuine cheque that they have agreed to pay it.

As to time limits. 6 Years.
