Warranty on car

Hi, I was wondering how it works with warranties on cars now. As mine has still got a couple of months left but due to the covid instructions, how does it work? Do the carry the remaining months forward or honour what’s left? Thanks.

I suspect that if you report a warranty problem within the warranty period it'll be honoured even if you can't get it repaired until afterwards.

Have you got a problem that requires fixing under warranty?

Contact the dealer and ask .0

This. Very unlikely the warranty period itself will be extended. Remember, many people are still using their cars. It's only a relatively small number of urban owners that'll be able to walk to do all their shopping.Herzlos said:I suspect that if you report a warranty problem within the warranty period it'll be honoured even if you can't get it repaired until afterwards.1 -
I was merely asking a question and getting anyone’s helpful response. Maybe someone who works in the industry who might have been given different information as individual companies are getting individual information. But thanks for the reply. And I’m well aware we have not been through this before!Car_54 said:tattoogirl31 said:Hi, I was wondering how it works with warranties on cars now. I’m not sure what your getting so concerned about? Do you have a warranty issue that needs addressing?
If not, the warranty runs and expires as normal. Nobody is stopping you using your car within this period so why would you expect the warranty to be suspended?1 -
I thought this site was for help or advice not snarky or a&rsey comments!
I never said I couldn’t drive the car. But if something needs repairing while the garage is shut and my warranty runs out in that time, that was the issue. But hey thanks.1 -
If you have a warranty issue then call the dealer and leave a voice mail, and email them. Even if they are closed and don't get it immediately the fact that you reported it locks in the warranty. When they get back even if the warranty has expired they will have to honour it because you reported the fault while it was active.2
