Are estate agents still showing properties?

We are due to put the house on the market this week. However, with the latest news coming from the PM, should we go ahead and will estate agents even be working?
I guess it will be a supply and demand thing but we are so unsure like many what we should do, we are end of chain. On the one had we want to get on with it and on the other there are strict rules about socialising.
What are your thoughts?

I doubt they are allowed now. Its non essential movement to view a house?

In the current crisis do you expect much interest?
Will you be prepared to show people around?

I think you'd need to combine your house-viewing with your one permitted piece of outdoors exercise. No, I doubt it's going to be practicable.

With the attitude of many. Like Spain and Italy this lock down may well be extended.

agreed, which is why i would review monthly.  Wouldn't want my house being advertised for months with no viewings, desperately trying to keep the house "show ready".

Even in Spain. People are still trying to drive to their holiday homes!  When stopped by the police they need to show a receipt to evidence the fact that they needed to be out. If not there's an on the spot fine.

but there are idiots everywhere.  Someone who is prepared to go view a house right now.....probably the sort of person who doesn't wash their hands

Last night's Government guidance (below) does not specifically mention geezers with liveried minis, shiny suits and gelled hair, but simply says

"All retail with notable exceptions" must close. Exceptions are listed as; "Supermarkets and other food shops, health shops, pharmacies including nondispensing pharmacies, petrol stations, bicycle shops, home and hardware shops, laundrettes and dry cleaners, bicycle shops, garages, car rentals, pet shops, corner shops, newsagents, post offices, and banks".

So while online sale sites will, presumably display properties, I wouldn't let strangers wander round my house at the mo...
