I have a credit card with a balance of 3k
1500 of that is taken up with a 0% for X months balance transfer, if I use any of the remaining balance and only pay minimum payment of the card do I lose my 0% on the 1500 or do I only pay interest on the other amount.

The general rule is don't use any of the remaining balance. Do not mix 0% credit cards that you've used for a balance transfer with purchases, unless you want to pay interest.
If you tell us which credit card you have, people may be able to provide better advice, as they all have different terms and conditions.
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?1 -
Normally, if you don't pay off the balance IN FULL, then the transactions you make on top of the balance transfer will incur interest from the day of transaction. You will not get the 'up to 56 days interest free' bit.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

I presume you mean you have a credit card with a credit limit of £3,000 and a promotional balance of £1,500 sitting at 0% (not a total balance of £3,000).
Based on this, if you spend any more money and that spend is not on a promotional rate, you will have to pay interest on the additional spend as some people above mentioned.
Your 0% balance will not be affected in any way and you will not have to pay interest on it until the 0% term ends.
However - it's important to remember that if you spend on purchases, then your payments will normally be allocated to the promotional balance transfer balance because the standard rate on balance transfers is higher than purchases.
This means that even if you spend a small amount (e.g. £100), you will pay interest on that £100 until you have fully repaid the balance transfer and only then will your payments begin going towards your other spend. This is why it's a bad idea to spend on a promotional 0% card.
