Soundproofing Ceiling

Hi,
I have bought a new build a while ago. The family above has wooden floors and this results in absolutely terrible impact noise problems. Noise peaks are often over 100db and every step or item falling on the floor is very audible.
I'm looking into soundproofing the ceiling in the best possible way. It looks like the way to go is an independent ceiling using Genie Clip LB3 or Mute Clip LP. Does anybody have experience with these systems and whether they successfully treat impact noise in a meaningful way? I can't seem to find any great reviews about a ceiling treatment.
I think the ceiling voids are mostly empty with some minor amount of glass wool in them. Does the lack of proper sound insulation in-between the joists amplify the noise severely?
Thank you for your help and best wishes.

This is not an answer to any question you've asked, but...is there anything in your lease about what type of floor coverings are allowed? It's not uncommon for a lease to mention flooring, for the reason you've discovered.

Have a look at the lease and see if they have to have carpet, not plain wooden floors.
If you go for a suspended ceiling make sure it is properly insulated from the floor above, all hangers must have an acoustic barrier in them.0 -
Thanks for the replies, the lease states that the covering has to muffle sound.0
