Laid Off on Maternity Leave

Hello,

I have been employed by a small family run B&B for about 12 years. Last year I went on maternity leave on the 1st July and was receiving my Statatory Maternity Pay without any problems - in fact I was getting more due to a tax refund! I was due to come back to work on the 13th April (the 40th week, so when the SMP would have stopped), however due to a certain virus the bookings stopped and people were cancelling and needing refunds. A lot of money going out and nothing coming back in. Because of this, the B&B have decided to close to guests and lay off all the staff. The boss had been in contact with everyone last week to warn us this may happen, and explained about the Guarenteed Pay thing we would be entitled to and said our payslips will be in the post.

I have not recieved my payslip yet but after looking at my bank statement what I was paid this week, it is less than my SMP should be, but more than the Guarenteed Pay. This lead me to think of some questions that I have tried to Google but with no real answers:

• I should still be entitled to the last few SMP payments in full - is this correct?
• Would I still get a tax refund on the Guarenteed Pay?
• In the worse case scenario, if I was made redundant would being on Maternity Leave affect any payment I would be entitled to?

Your answers would be very appreciated, and any advice on how to approach my boss who has been like a grandmother to me on this situation would be amazing!
