Help with wages

Husband works for roofing firm. He earns a steady wage weekly. His total gross earnings are around £33,000 and have been for years with this year up to £37,000. On his wages it states basic wage which is minimum wage daily rate and bonus (not a bonus)
He does priced work and this tops the wage up.
How will the government look at this? Worried they will only account the basic day rate and not the actual amount he takes home and pays tax on.

Is he being told there is no work for him? If he is designated as a furloughed worker the employer can get support to cover 80% of the wage. Until details of the scheme are announced we will not know what is to be included as the baseline wage. The employer can pay more than the support available if they choose.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0
