Coronavirus health advice

Hi i am an asthmatic, i take a preventative inhaler morning and evening and i also have a reliever. I work in a manufacturing environment. What i want to know is should i carry on working or should i stay at home given that i have asthma? The official advice isn't clear as some articles say stay home if you have asthma and some say only if you have severe asthma so i am confused. I rang my doctors and they said isolate yourself if you feel at risk. NHS 111 say if you have severe asthma, I know this might not be the right place for this question but I've tried elsewhere without getting clear guidance. Thanks

My cousin has stayed off work and her asthma is probably similar to yours. She is a teacher and her work haven't questioned it. Although In my job, i think the classification for severe asthma would be recent hospital admissions due to attacks or at least several courses of antibiotics over the last year.
As your GP said if you feel at risk then stay off. Only you know your body and the risk of exposure in your work. Stay well.Mortgage started August 2020 £69,700

Thank you for your reply. It’s tricky knowing what’s best to do. I use a preventative inhaler called Fostair daily which I think is a steroid inhaler and have used it for years but it’s been quite a while since I was admitted to hospital.0
