I regret switching to British Gas

Initiated the switch on 5th Feb. Pretty much straight away they created my homecare account. I sign on to british gas using the email address I provided at time of switch. I can see my homecare account.
I went to their online chat to see about being able to view my energy accounts only to be told that the name on the account is Laura Jackson. I've never heard of her! Is she going to pay my gas bill?
Now British Gas have sent me a form to fill out so they can transfer the account to my name. Trouble is, it wants Janet'semail address, date of birth and signature.
Maybe I should cancel my direct debit and see if that gets their attention.

    Cancel DD may get their attention but they may pass to debt collectors and trash your credit record for the next  6 years .

    Andytwonames - a bit of history please.  When did you move in, who was the supplier at the time of the move, who was your last supplier and were there accounts in your andytwonames name?

  • I've been in the house over 10 years, Laura Jackson was not the previous owner. I have had British Gas as energy supplier in the past. Most recent supplier was SSE, all accounts over the last 10 years have been in my name
