Aer Lingus - Flights refund - (Flights to US not being cancelled)

I'm due to fly to New York on Weds but it seems the flight isn't being cancelled as it's one of the "limited" ones going ahead. I can't take a credit note (as due to the current situation I'm now out of work so certainly won't be planning trips for a long time), I can't claim under the chargeback, but can't fly either. My insurance has said I need to try and get a refund first but Aer Lingus is like talking to a brick wall. (when I managed to speak to anyone).
Anyone else in the same situation and got any ideas or ways forward? The refund would be seriously helpful right now.
