I now have no childcare am I going to get any pay?

I am just confused with all the do's and don'ts. My husband is a key worker but our school have urged us that if the other parent is not a key worker, then unless completely crucial, do not send your children in. So I am now staying at home with the kids uncertain about how we are going to survive money wise if there is no duty of care to pay me anything. The family I would normally rely on are self isolating and surely it defeats the object if I have to take them into work with me. We are being urged to stay home but how can we? 😔 Anyone else clearer on these situations?

Thank you.

It sounds as if you should send your children to school.

Depends what job you do. If you can't work or not needed to work, then your employer should pay you as per the govt. arrangements. Speak to your employer. Don't take your kids to work.

..your employer should pay you as per the govt. arrangements.
The employer is under no obligation to make use of the Coronavirus Job Protection Scheme. It is their choice. They are not obliged to retain and pay workers (subject to any terms in the contract of employment).
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
