Fireflyaway said:It takes time to settle somewhere especially if you are yet to make close friends and all this virus stuff is scary no matter where you live. What's the rush? Why not stay a bit longer to make absolutely sure and then decide? Once you are settled in work and have friends and the world is back to normal have another think. Importantly save some cash so you have choices. You don't want the choice to be taken out your hands because you can't afford to move / visit / get another place etc.0

The prime minister is announcing strict new curbs on life in the UK to tackle the spread of coronavirus.
From this evening people must stay at home except for shopping for basic necessities, daily exercise, any medical need and travelling to and from essential work.
Shops selling non-essential goods will also be shut and gatherings in public of more than two people who do not live together prohibited.
The UK death toll has reached 335.
If people do not follow the rules police will have the powers to enforce them, including through fines and dispersing gatherings, Boris Johnson said in a televised statement from Downing Street.
Other premises including libraries, playgrounds and outdoor gyms, and places of worship must also close immediately.
Parks will remain open for exercise but gatherings will be dispersed.

There's only an 8 hour time difference between Western Australia and the UK which is workable. I've decided however to stay put for now and just ride it out. Both my employer and client are being really supportive and checking in that I'm ok and I have everything I need. The only sticking point now is my car in the UK which is due it's MOT. My mum had it booked in for yesterday but the garage cancelled as it was closing to self isolate its workers. According to Twitter the DVSA are not giving a grace period for MOT as garages are part of the essential category meaning they can stay open. However, many are closing and I can't hold that against them nor their staff.
On the bright side I am fit, well and haven't gone totally barmy working from home. My loved ones are all well and long may that continue.0 -
