Cant sleep with the stress of this Covid19

I think its starting to affect me. I am a bank nurse (work in a&e 23 hours a week) and also in the process of getting my first mortgage. Had the offer just waiting for all the conveyancing  to go through.

I have 3 kids who have all finished school on Friday and I'm the only earner in the family. DP is asking me not to go to work as it is exposing us all to Covid. I have 2 reasons making me need to work first being the mortgage... I need to keep my set income for it all to go through. Number 2 is my feelings of responsibility as a Nurse. I have booked my shifts 4 on 10 off to minimise risk as much as possible so I’m not in till Saturday Sunday Monday and Tuesday (0700-1930) which is still a LOT of exposure. When i was in this Monday and Tuesday there were lots and lots of people coming in with shortness of breath or difficulties in breathing. Its going to get more and more as time goes on.

I really don't know what to do. Do I stay off and risk my mortgage and not doing my bit. Or should I go in and deal with the consequences if or when one of my family becomes ill.

Your Trust should be providing protective equipment. I'm an unpaid Primary Carer going in all day every day and am seeing it 1st hand. They are moving the non-acute wards lock, stock and barrel well away from the acute wards and have set up special pods. In high risk areas they are providing masks and special equipment. There's also areas in place for those suspected of it and full body clothing is being provided to the staff. I'm noticing NHS P's being conspicuous by their absence on the wards.

I know there is a three month mortgage break, so it might be worth looking into that.

As you can see from the news etc... ppe wasn’t that readily available when i was in on Tuesday and as the situation gets worse i don't know if there is now more ppe or not.

I wouldn't have a mortgage holiday for my first months of mortgage. When the mortgage does go through its £140 a month cheaper than my rent so i should manage fine even on ssp.
