Hi guys
I'm looking for some local knowledge on this area of Leicestershire. How would you describe it? Any pros and cons?
To put this request in some context, we are a young couple looking to settle down in a safe area with a nice community feel.
Thank you.

The immediate area is rural and moderately attractive. Coleorton is small with few facilities. It is spread out without (from memory) any real centre so I am not sure you would find a tight knit village community. The nearby towns to the south are ex-mining and still active quarrying areas and in my view are pretty grim (sorry to anyone who lives there}, though Ashby de la Zouch where you would probably go to shop is OK. Further west again is ex-mining and industrial. Generally the area is in need of regeneration.I think you can find "nicer" areas though obviously it depends on what you can afford and where you work.
