Snagging Survey

Hi , me and my partner have just put an offer in that’s been accepted on a new build. We’re first time buyers so new to all this.
We’ve been advised to have a snagging survey carried out.
Is this better than a homebuyers survey or is a snagging survey purely for new builds and a homebuyers survey for a used home.
Also if anyone can recommend a repeatable company for a survey it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Who recommended you have the snagging survey done? Someone that recommended a company and will get a kickback of part of their fee? Be aware that professional snaggers will likely find 100's of issues (to justify their fee) which will then be declined by your builder as they don't fall outside of the industry-recognised standards and sour your relationship with the builder from the beginning

No one that would benefit from us carrying out a snagging survey has advised us just a friend who had one done on their house.
Would it be better having a homebuyers survey done ?
