Hi, I booked a coach from London to Paris (& return) on 1st March, to leave London on April 10th and return on the 18th. Given that the UK government & FCO are advising against all but essential travel abroad, I went onto the Flixbus website to cancel my booking, only to discover that not only are they still charging a fee to cancel, but they are not actually giving a refund, they are only giving a voucher valid for 12 months. Is this legal or am I entitled to an actual refund for the full value? The booking was made online using a debit card.

is the service still operating? IF they have cancelled the service then they cannot provide what you purchased so push for refund. If the service is still operating but you cannot travel due FCO guidance then claim from your travel insurance

Update: Received the email overnight informing me my trips had been cancelled and giving me the offer of rebooking or a voucher refund. Sent them this message on Twitter (the only obvious way to speak to them): 

Good afternoon. I received 2 emails overnight informing me that my coach trips from London to Paris, and return (booking ref: 1077162681) have both been cancelled and the offer of either rebooking or a voucher for the value paid. Obviously due to the circumstances rebooking is not an option, and as per EU law, recently clarified by the Commissioner for Transport on the 18th March (see below), I am entitled to a full refund. ..."the Commission wants to provide legal certainty on how to apply EU passenger rights. In case of cancellations the transport provider must reimburse or re-route the passengers." Please process the refund without delay.
