Care Assistant - UC ?

My sister who seperated from her husband, approx 6 months ago - works as a care assistant on minumum pay (£8.30 ph) - she has savings of over £20k (from her marriage)
She has paid NI credits for several years
She has been told that her hours are being cut to 20 - can she claim UC in light of this ?
If so will her savings affect her claim ?
Does the fact that she is seperated help or hinder any claim ?

Because her savings are over £16,000 she cannot claim UC.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

She has 20K in savings. She doesn't need financial assistance.
What is the reason her hours have been cut? Given the crisis we're about to have in social care, it would make more sense to pick up extra shifts elsewhere to top up her hours. That's not going to be difficult.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

That money is needed to set her up again - she was married for 24 years - the fact that the virus came at an inopportune time for her !
The reason for the hours cut is that the company is in financial difficulties due to the virus !

If she can't find any care work to fill in she could try the supermarkets. They are desperately recruiting. Apparently someone down here was hired within five hours of applying

My son has also recently got a job with his local supermarket within just a few hours of applying.

It makes no difference what it's needed for. The money she has means she's not entitled to any means tested benefits.
