TUI stores - closed doors

In case anybody hasn't clocked it yet - TUI have announced that their stores will not be opening for walk in customer.

Staff will be in, however if you booked in store you need to telephone them there - online bookings can be cancelled and amended etc.

To be fair there isn't much point in the High St stores opening.  There's no point in trying to book new holidays until there are places to fly to.  The rest can be done on line.

I think Virgin Holidays were doing the same. 

Makes perfect sense to have the staff resource working behind closed doors in the shops helping I expect with call centre overflow calls and sorting out their customers questions. If they stayed with open doors I expect most of their ‘custom’ would be from people look for help having booked with Lastminute.com, Opodo, mytrip.com and a selection of other online agencies.

I would think the move is to stop any face to face presence between staff and customers for health reasons.
