If a landlord gets a 3 month "holiday" on the mortgage they still has to pay this back, which basically means the mortgage will continue for 3 months longer then originally planned so they are not getting anything for free They still have to pay. If renters get a 3 month break in paying rent how do they plan on making this up? If they can't afford to pay for 3 months how are they expected to pay again in 3 months and cover the shortfall of 3 months rent or even longer.
  • I'm a landlord, and I'm working with my tenants to make sure we all get a fair deal, and that no one is losing out.
99% of disputes could be solved with communication - speak to your landlord, and see how they can help you.

We're not all bad, we're not all out to scam people and have tenants living in squalid conditions - treat us with respect, communicate with us and 99% of the time you'll find we're a lovely bunch.

And just to echo the other comments, there's no 'freebies' for landlords - we get a 3 month payment holiday (if the lender approves it) and then have to pay more back in the long run. Not a 'freebie' by any stretch!
