Nice bright day here got a wash on the go and will hang it out for a while its great drying weather. People round here are treating this lock down like a holiday there was a photo of Bognor seafront (which is local ish) and it was packed with people walking, our road had loads of neighbors out in the street talking and dropping kids off for sleepovers !! it makes me so mad they are acting like its a holiday !!
Our lock down is good for the house though I have given the kitchen a good clean, yesterday I hoovered my car out and then did dd's which was disgusting !! Today I might clean the downstairs windows and oh and dd could clean the cars.
DD is cooking mothers day lunch of roast pork and all the trimmings and we are going to pretend to go to the pub laterwe will either sit outside or if too cold in the conservatory and one of us will go in to get the drinks and a small bowl of nuts like they do in the pub
Nels have you seen 'self made' on netflix ? well worth a watch its a mini series about a rag to riches true story xx
Did you all see that John Lewis are shutting all stores from Monday ? I do think this is going to get worse before it gets better.
Have good days all and stay safe xxI know what you mean about the house mine has never been more visitor ready....shame they are not allowed lol! Today was the mugs and tea cupboard.....I don't need to buy tea or coffee for months thanks to all the stolen sachets from hotels
Loving the pub plan12 -
Another bright sunny morning, weather forecast to last for most of the week, so will be spending a bit of time in the garden, if I can manage it.
Our neighbour has started privatizing herself, 6' fence all down our side, wonder what she is going to do at the other side, knowing her dad I doubt if she has got the permission from the council, he will have told her she can go ahead and tell the council afterwards.
Another load of washing in, towels this time, will be good to get them dry outside. Tomorrow will be the bed linen. As my cleaner is not coming I am going to swap to Mondays to change the bed. OH will have to help me with the monster duvet cover.
I have a turkey breast for supper tonight, so roast tatties and veg with it. Will also make a pot of Leek and Potato soup for lunches and have to put a loaf on. When I picked up the last lot of fruit from Aldi I managed to pick up a bag of ?Gala apples, going to peel two or three and make a blackberry and apple crumble for dessert. I have quite a lot of carrots so a carrot cake is in the offing too.
Stay safe everyone.9 -
Morning folks and thanks TAFF. Promising to be a lovely day for us too. It still feels bloomin' cold though.
Day 7 of solitary and not getting easier. Especially today, DD has WhatsApped me lots of pics of happier days together and messages from the girls. Tears were shed. My cards and present will be on the doorstep shortly. The best present would be having the day we had planned but ce la vie just now. DS also calling up shortly with their gifts and a little chat up and down the front steps.
...******** Over an hour later I will carry on! I can't get off the spot for texts, whatsapps and deliveries!
DD's bag of cards and gifts duly left on the doorstep and more tears shed at all the lovely messages from the girls. There was even a Happy Mothers day from the cat card, a little gift from her (some little cat hooks!) and a lovely message thanking me for adopting her, loving her and playing with her. Aw so sweet!
The freezers finally got sorted late yesterday afternoon and put into some semblance of order. A few bits and pieces of leftovers etc still in there to be used this coming week. Nice piece of chicken defrosted in fridge o/n for my lunch and veg already prepped and ready to go.
I have an AgeUK bag here to be picked up tomorrow so after lunch I will make a concerted effort to go through my clothes and try and fill it!
Have a good day folks if you can with the way things are. A ((BIG GROUP HUG)) for us all, we need one. Take care and stay safe x

Morning all.
Glad to see that everyone is sounding positive. I think that the novelty of self-isolation is carrying people through at the moment. It will be interesting to see how things hold up as time goes on.
Red Ruby, We don't seem to have loads of people on the beach, just the usual dog walkers or folk keeping well way from each other out enjoying the sunshine.
I've had a 10 minute phone conversation with No1 son who was on his way to rescue a stranded motorist - he is in Vehicle Recovery - and he reports that there is very little traffic on the roads at the moment. He also sent me a HUGE but virtual bouquet.
It seems strange not to be getting ready for church but I'm sure that I will find a service of some sort on radio or TV.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY.
They said that a mask and gloves were enough to go to the grocery store.
They lied.
Everybody else had clothes on.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Morning all. Happy Mothering Sunday to all Mums and daughters. It will certainly be one that will be remembered.I had another dream full night, even got Mr Fix It up at 1.30am to check the house as I had heard 3 loud bangs, all ok, so must have been in my head. I got up before 5am and was listening to the dawn chorus and watching a beautiful red sunrise, whilst stuffing my face with a black pudding sandwich
It's these little things that are making me happy at the moment while there is worldly chaos. I went back to bed to try to sleep and it was back to dreaming, I was in the bank this time answering questions on Harry potter just to get some cash out. If anyone ever analyzes my brain they would have me locked up as I'm probably already off my rocker
DD arranged another delivery yesterday, the other half of my present. It is a beautiful hand made art picture of a tree in full leaf ( think large Oak ) but the leaves are covered in splarkly gem stones. It also has glittery butterflies and flowers that shimmer and shine in the light. It is absolutely amazing and I shall treasure it forever. The message on the back is " 2020.... Here's to the strangest Mother's day ever !" The trustworthy "deliverer" was kind enough to take back the DGC's easter eggs, their money and some bags of sweets for all to share. Oh ! and a box of Jaspers chews.... they might have looked mighty tasty down the lineI didn't get round to cleaning the carpet so that remains on the to do list and Sunday lunch with Dad is also cancelled, well Sunday lunch really as we will have BBQ pork steaks and chips. There is some walnut cake to be christened for tea.Today I want to take down a very large overhanging branch in the back garden if it's not too windy. Mr Fix It will lasso it and I will hold the rope while he goes at it with the chain saw on a pole thingy. As we can't dispose of it, it will stay in the garden for the forseeable future.Right enough from the Welsh WafflerHope everyone has a good day. Hugs to all Mums and / or daughters.
Take care and stay safenan xx

PS I forgot to say that there were so many flowers in my bouquet that I filled 2 large vases and still had about a third left over. DD's deliverer kindly took them back to DD as I doubt SiL could get anything for her from the DGC as they have another week or more in isolation.I'll shut up now. I'm sure you'll be glad to hear that.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently13

NELSKI - yes, my new hip is very precious. The lower down muck can wait for the cleaner on Thursday if she's still able to come.TA - another lovely post, what a fabulous family you have. All this isolation is bringing out a lot of different love from everyone.NAN - my DM often asks me if I've heard a loud thump when there hasn't been one. According to this website
"As strange as the name sounds, exploding head syndrome is actually a rare and relatively undocumented sleep phenomenon. While sleeping or dozing, a person with the condition hears a terrifically loud sound in their head, such as a bomb exploding, a clash of cymbals or a gun going off.
“It’s usually described as a loud bang or pop that occurs in the first third of the night,” says Dr. Neil Kline, sleep physician and representative of the American Sleep Association in Wilmington, Del. “It’s a sensory phenomenon. The individual senses that some type of explosion has occurred nearby, but ultimately realizes it’s in their head. It’s not associated with pain or with any disorder that we know of and there are no physiological medical consequences that are associated with it.”
Thought to be brought on by anxiety or extreme fatigue and occurring in clusters during stressful periods, exploding head syndrome is not dangerous, according to the American Sleep Association Web site."
MONO - you made me laugh out loud - thanks!
I've been out to the Sunday opening post office to send off a card to Germany. When I was there I bought a box of disposable gloves to give to DM's friend, he's only got one pair which already have a hole in. Yesterday I gave him some which were a medium, his hands just about squeezed in, the new box has large gloves.
It's such a lovely day, I took the opportunity to have a little stroll (read wobble) around a local park, not the one right outside the house as it's got a very steep hill down to the river and back up again, still looking after my hip.
Last night I really enjoyed watching Deadpool, again. I know it's rude and violent, it's also tickles my funny bone.
Coffee time now.

Gers thanks for that, I maybe a rarity then, who knew ! It's not surprising that anxiety/stress may be to blame because of the ongoing situation and perhaps my Trigeminal Neuralgia is adding to it too. At least I know that I'm not completely bonkers, well not yet anyway. Now I think of it, my late Mum used to get the head banging too and had meds from the GP, although it's not unexpected that she was stressed, living with Dad for 60 yearsWe have only taken one very large branch down and we didn't realise how thick and long the darned thing was
Took us hours to clear it out of the way too. Now we have to do it all over again tomorrow because I didn't understand that there were more hiding behind it. Doh !!. Oh well it will keep us occupied while the sun shines !
Take carenan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
Afternoon all,
Happy Mother's Day to those of you to whom it applies.
Cold but sunny here, have had visits to the front door from some of my brood who can get here, calls from the others.......strange day, have had breakfast and lunch, both later than usual so probably no dinner as there is only so much I can eat.
Happy to hear that none of you have contracted the deadly virus, I trust that it will be very mild if it happens, we are eating lots of fruit and veg and taking our vitamin D.....allegedly it helps the immune system.
Knitting my way through some of the stash, trouble is that the stash doesn't seem to be going down very much.
DD1 is back to Cork tomorrow, she will be there for the duration as far as I know.
DD3 is back at work tomorrow, her company are staggering the working from home week by week, she is unsure about what she will do about child care for 3 days , no doubt it will work out, as she can't afford to lose salary.
DD4 is at home with her little girls but is teaching on line so finding things stressful..
Sorry for the moan, love to all, especially Ruby..
